1. Introduction to the conference

        International Conference on Advanced Fibers and Polymer Materials (ICAFPM) is initiated, organized and hosted by State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials (SKLFPM) of Donghua University (DHU), aiming to discuss the latest research and progress in fields related to advanced fiber and polymer materials and to open up the frontier researches of fibers and polymers. The series of ICAFPM has been successfully held for 9 times since 2002. The conferences have received positive responses and strong supports from scientists in the fields of fiber and polymer materials. ICAFPM has become one of the largest academic events in the world with the theme of "fiber" and, each year, it attracts about 300 to 400 attendees from both academia and industry all around the world.

The 10^th ICAFPM is scheduled to be held in Songjiang District, Shanghai, China, October 17-20, 2021. The theme of the conference: Better Fiber, Better World. A number of plenary lectures, special sessions, forums, exhibitions, and poster sessions will be held on this theme and related sub-topics.

The conference will set up an exhibition area. We sincerely invite domestic and foreign enterprises and publishers to participate in the exhibition.

2. Qian Baojun Fiber Material Award

Mr. Qian Baojun is one of the founders of fiber materials in China and the founder of the discipline of fiber materials in Donghua University. He has made outstanding contributions to the field of fiber materials science. In order to better inherit the cause of Mr. Qian Baojun, carry forward his spirit, and promote the sustainable development in the field of fiber materials, the State Key Laboratory of Fiber Material Modification (Donghua University) initiated and established the Qian Baojun Fiber Material Award, which is selected every two years. In this ICAFPM conference, the 3rd Qian Baojun Fiber Material Award will be presented.

5. Paper publishment

The abstracts are welcome to be extended to full-text submissions, which will be selected as special issues and published in journals of Advanced Fiber Materials and Journal of Donghua University (English Edition). Advanced Fiber Materials is initiated by the State Key Laboratory of Fiber Modification (Donghua University) and published by Springer Nature. The journal is a peer-reviewed, international and interdisciplinary research journal that aims to publish high-quality papers in the field of fibrous materials and fiber-based devices and applications. The journal reflects the rapid progress and development in the field of fibrous materials and will become an international platform for high-quality interdisciplinary research. The readers of this journal cover researchers and engineers from academia and industry all around the world. This journal was officially founded in 2019 and issued 12 issues. By May 2021, the journals have been taken in by Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), CNKI, Dimensions, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Google Scholar, and other databases.
